Police search for owner of box full of cash

POLICE have issued an appeal to the public asking for the owner of a black plastic box crammed with notes to come forward.

The cash - which consisted solely of notes and a mobile phone - was found on Roghan Rd, in Fitzgibbon, in Brisbane's northern suburbs.

"Extensive inquiries, including forensic testing of the cash and analysis of the mobile phone, has failed to locate the owner of the property," Queensland Police said via a media release.

The money was handed in on August 23 by members of the public.
