Queensland policeman charged with domestic violence

A QUEENSLAND Police senior constable has been stood down after for allegedly breaching a domestic violence order.

According to police, the 36-year-old was not on duty at the time of the alleged offences.

Police did not release any details of where the officer worked, except to say he was part of the "Northern Region" which includes areas from Townsville north, and west to the Queensland-Northern Territory border.

The senior constable is due to face court in Cairns on February 2.
