Polished Pearson here to stay
RUGBY LEAGUE: As far as NRL debuts go, it doesn't get much better.
Alongside his Brisbane Broncos team-mates, 21-year-old Yeppoon product Jonus Pearson was a star.
Two tries, in the 11th and 65th minutes, 12 carries for 97 minutes and crucially, no mistakes.
Unfairly dubbed 'the next Jharal Yow Yeh', Pearson showed why, his power, polish and poise of a 10-year veteran.

His first came from a pin-point cut-out pass from fullback Darius Boyd to score in the corner.
His second, a beauty. Boyd chimed in with a difficult pass, reigned in by the winger before he beat three defends to the line.
In a star studded Broncos outfit, the former Yeppoon Seagull was the third Central Queensland junior. He was also the third St Brendans Yeppoon graduate.
The tries of Pearson and Baralaba's Corey Oates and Dingo's Ben Hunt made for 24 of the Broncos 38 points in their win over Parramatta.

Oates bagged a hat-trick in a game which might have sparked the Broncos spluttering season.
For Pearson, it just the start, and what a start it was.
