Pony club warms-up for Collinsville

PONY CLUB

THE Cannonvalley riders have spent the weekend preparing for this week's Collinsville One Day Event.

A late afternoon rally on Saturday saw 13 riders practice their dressage and jumping routines ahead of this weekend's important meet.

Michelle Griff threw in a few new sporting games to keep the riders on their toes, with participants enjoying a heap of laughs.

Eager rider Bree Wiblen fine-tuned her jumping skills with Ron Easy lessons in Mackay, while the Lee girls of Georgina, Abby and Charlie took to Ayr to compete in the NQEG Classic - providing tremendous showjumping results.

Georgina and All Wrapped Up came third in the 1m AM7. 1m A2 and the grand prix 1m while Abby and Move On Over returned with a second in the 60cm AM7 and A2, followed by a first in the 60cm grand prix. Sunday proved to be an important day for four club riders, tested by zone chief instructor Sue Greenhalgh for their C Certificate.

The girls did extremely well, with all four passing with flying colours.

Congratulations must go to Alyssa Turner, Lanie Krog, Breeanna Purvis and Tori Mansfield.

The Cannonvalley Pony Club would also like to thank Ms Greenhalgh for spending her Mother's Day sharing vast amounts of knowledge with the club's kids.
