TO HAVE your business recognised nationally would definitely be humbling, and for Anthony Kliese, it was just that.

The Whitsunday-based NQ Water and subsidiary, Poolsmartz, took home the award for the AstralPool Sustainable Product Sales for Queensland for 2016 and the team couldn't be more chuffed.

Director of NQ Water, Mr Kliese, said it was an honour to receive the award.

"We're always proud and privileged to be recognised by a group of our peers," he said.

"We're such a great company and the staff are really proud and honoured to be recognised for their work."

Held in Darwin at the Pee Wee's at the Point Function Centre during the Alliance Pool Group Conference, the awards night saw AstralPool product resellers from all over the country gather together.

This isn't the first time NQ Water and PoolSmartz have been recognised for their work with PoolSmartz taking out the Ultimate Consumer Experience in Queensland at the AstralPool Awards last year.

The businesses were acknowledged for their excellent staff knowledge and customer service - a quality which Mr Kliese said they take pride in.

"We have a high emphasis on customer satisfaction and customer service," he said.

"We're all about giving good old service back to the customers and we get compliments all the time on how friendly and knowledgeable the staff are."

And it's understandable why, with Mr Kliese making sure his staff know their stuff.

"In our industry there are a lot of products out there but it's about concentrating on the products we stock- having a really solid understanding of each one so we can inform customers as best we can about what each product can do and not do for them," he said.

The business has come a long way having started with a three person team and expanding to over 25 staff.

As the demand for innovative and sustainable pool, pumping and irrigation technology increases, NQ Water is continuing to grow.
