Port of Airlie not sold

CONTRARY to the latest rumours, Port of Airlie's receivers McGrathNicol have confirmed that the development has not been sold.

The Whitsunday Times was told Port of Airlie was not currently on the market and the receivers had no immediate plans to that effect.

It is understood the receivers are continuing to sell individual units and marina berths and will shortly be releasing blocks of land.

They are also continuing with infrastructure elements of the development as per the contract with council.

McGrathNicol were able to confirm that queries have been received regarding the whole site but said there were no plans to pursue a full sale at this time. They were also not responsible for arranging any out-of-town visitations by investors last weekend. McGrathNicol has invested in extensive landscaping and heavy earthworks, made arrangements for several new restaurants to start operations from the Boathouse over the next month and will continue to work with Fantasea Adventure Cruising to get the company operating from the new Port of Airlie site as soon as possible.
