Postponed fete is twice the fun
AN OUTBREAK of gastro has forced Easter to be postponed in Proserpine.
Fete-goers now have a few more weeks to rustle up their Easter bonnets.
The nursing home's fete was due to be held this Saturday, March 24, but has been postponed until Saturday, April 28.
Residents have suffered a gastroenteritis outbreak and the home would like to make sure the bug has well and truly cleared the vicinity before they open their doors to the public.
All of the same family fun and entertainment will take place, just at a later date.
The community event will still be free, with the official ceremony to open the home's new wing also rescheduled to April 28.
Festivities will take place from 11am-4pm, with nothing changing in regards to the day's agenda except for the date itself.
CEO Troy Smith hopes to see an bigger show of support at the rescheduled event.
