Proserpine hosts fair for its PC
PRESIDENT of the Proserpine State School P&C Association Lisa Milne can't wait for the second annual evening country fair.
"I am very excited because it is going to be a fabulous night for the whole community," she said.
Ms Milne has been on the P&C for eight years and in that time the school has never had a parents' room.
Proceeds from the Country Fair will go towards the establishment of the room, which will allow parents a place to connect before and after school.
"This has been one of our goals for the last couple of years - to provide a place whereby parents can become more involved in the school," Ms Milne said.
Last year the Proserpine State School came upon a winning formula for their country fair and they are sticking with it for 2016.
In a departure from the traditional day time fair, the event last year was held in the evening.
At Friday's fair there will be a mechanical bull, a petting zoo, fete stalls, music, food and for the adults, a bar.
To help keep the kids entertained the school's P&C will be selling gaffer tape to students who will pin Mr Templeton to the wall while standing on a stool. The stool will be removed to leave the teacher hanging.
The school thanked local businesses and volunteers.
