Proserpine icon unlocks her success

ROBIN Shelbourne is the personality behind what has become a Proserpine icon.

To help Colour Me Crazy celebrate its 20th birthday the Whitsunday Coast Guardian took Robin aside and asked her a few questions.

The obvious one being with a shop called Colour Me Crazy is: What is your favourite colour? Mint.

What is your perfect meal? Moroccan.

What is something about you that no one else knows? I drink a lot of red wine. An anonymous shopper calls out "we already know that". Robin puts her thinking cap back on and says: I have a second granddaughter on the way.

What is the secret to your success in business? I am beautiful.

From humble beginnings selling products branded under the Horny Housewife Condiment Company at local markets, Robin has forged a real Proserpine success story.

For 20 years Colour Me Crazy has been offering punters that certain something that is a bit left of the middle, a bit quirky and a bit interesting.

This week the Guardian acknowledges a shop that has definitely put Proserpine on the map.
