Rapper Tony “T-Dub” Woodrow rapt in court verdict

GYMPIE rapper Tony "T-Dub" Woodrow said he would recommend a Sunshine Coast magistrate to his friends following what he has described as an "unbelievable" verdict.

Mr Woodrow, 35, told The Courier-Mail this week he was surprised when Magistrate Bernadette Callaghan found him not guilty of threatening to kill a man.

"She is one of the most lenient judges I have had," he told The Courier-Mail.

"She was lenient and gave me a one-month suspension which was basically unheard of.

"I was surprised."

The newspaper reported Magistrate Callaghan, who they revealed has "attracted controversy for what police say are soft sentences", found Mr Woodrow not guilty of threatening over the phone to kill Heath Platt.

The paper said Mr Platt had visited Mr Woodrow's de facto on March 8, 2012 and the day after Mr Woodrow had allegedly told Mr Platt, "I want you to know if you end up in a ditch with your throat cut it's your fault for f------ with my family.

"I'm gonna f------ kill you c---."

The Courier-Mail said that while Magistrate Callaghan accepted a phone call had taken place, there was not enough evidence to prove the alleged threats were made against Mr Platt.

Mr Woodrow had told The Courier- Mail he had been given a "lenient'' disqualification by the same magistrate for a drink-driving charge laid over a year ago.
