Ready for a big move

A NEW location in Whitsunday Plaza has been much anticipated for Whitsunday Family Practice and Whitsunday Cosmetics Skin Clinic, who can finally announce a move is just weeks away.

Dr Melissa McCann started the practice in September 2015 and said her patients had been "wonderful and so patient" with the size, limited parking and stairs at the current location.

"We are very grateful for the continued support and have put everything into giving what will be a very beautiful, comfortable and well-equipped modern medical clinic," she said.

The new location will be at the previous Video Ezy site at Whitsunday Plaza (formerly Centro).

With adequate parking and close proximity to pharmacy, dentist and other services including in house Sullivan and Nicolaides pathology, the new location has been carefully designed with patients and families in mind.

There will even be separate waiting areas for the skin and general practice clinics and a dedicated children's play area.

Dr Melissa McCann and Dr Emma Hinschen are the two doctors currently at the clinic, with new doctors joining and the nursing and administration staff expanding on completion of the clinic.

"Our entire team is dedicated to the highest quality of patient care," Family Practice manager Lisa Campbell said.

"We are looking forward to introducing a model of care that ensures a positive experience from the moment patients walk in the door." The general practice clinic will be co-located with Whitsunday Cosmetics Skin Clinic, which will be offering anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, medical grade laser hair and pigment removal, leg vein and capillary treatment, skin peels, microdermabrasion and cellulite/body contouring treatments.

"We have purchased the highest quality medical grade laser available in the world, the Candela Alexandrite Gentlelase Pro for most effective permanent hair reduction with the least discomfort" Cosmetics Skin Clinic Manager, Claire Johnston said.

"We are also able to offer reduction of pigment with this laser, which is complemented by our MD range of Ultraceuticals skin products, microdermabrasion and skin peel treatments.

"We are very excited to be the first clinic in North Queensland to not only offer this quality laser treatment, but also the fantastic Velashape III machine for cellulite treatments and body contouring."
