Residents head to Dingo Beach for Whitfunday

CROWDS have flocked to Dingo Beach for the annual Whitfunday carnival.

People from all over the Whitsunday region have joined in the festival fun with sandcastle building, cast net throwing and all the fun of sideshow alley.

The day is made possible through the hard work of the Dingo Beach Progress Association and the Lions Club with sponsorship from Bendigo Bank.

Progress Association president Andrew Dinney said it was an event that only continues to grow.

"It's a wonderful day," he said.

One lucky visitor will even take home $1000 cash.
