Reunion a resounding success

FORMER players and supporters came from all over Australia to attend the Whitsunday Brahmans senior rugby league player and supporter reunion held on the weekend.

President of the Whitsunday Old Bulls Club was blown away by the success of the weekend and said it had exceeded all expectations.

"It was an absolutely fabulous weekend and everyone who attended had a great time. We had over 40 people at our golf day on Friday and even more people at the Metropole Hotel on Friday and Saturday night," Colbourne said.

"Past players came from right across the country to help us celebrate and it made the weekend that much more special. We were all very humbled by the response from the public and it was a great boost for all of Proserpine."

One of the largest crowds in recent history watched on as the Brahmans claimed two wins and a draw against Souths on Saturday night before a terrific night at the Metrople where $10,000 was raised with the auctioning of the A Grade side's retro jerseys.

"The whole weekend was an outstanding success and a big thank-you must go to everyone who made the effort to come out and support the different events that were on."
