Riders make the most of raceway

WHITSUNDAY riders made the most of the fine weather on the weekend, heading to the Whitsunday Raceway and Driver Education Training Facility for the road registered bikes track day.

Men and women geared up and enjoyed the day, putting the performance of their bikes to the test around the corners and straights.

Whitsunday Moto Sports Club hosts the events to give riders the opportunity to head out on their bikes in a safe and friendly environment.

The second round of championships for the bikes will be held on July 22, with food and drinks available as well as plenty of room for spectators.

Riders are also preparing for Round three of the Queensland Super Motard Titles at Mareeba on August 3-5.

The Whitsunday Raceway caters to different modes of transport from bikes to go-karts, cars and quad bikes, with the venue also hosting driver training courses.

A go-kart practice day will be held at the track on July 15 with the Great Barrier Reef Titles to be held on August 11-12.
