Maryborough BMX Classic attracts record number of riders

RECORD numbers helped make this year's Maryborough Classic one of the best in the event's history.

Maryborough BMX Club hosted more than 400 riders for the event, with riders coming from the East Coast between Far North Queensland and New South Wales, as well as a handful of riders from New Zealand.

Club secretary Angela Browning praised the volunteers for their efforts in making the weekend run smoothly.

"It was a very busy weekend indeed," she said.

"It went really, really well. It was not only a good weekend but a very successful one.

"We have to thank the volunteers, not just from this club but from across the zone.

"The committee put on a great event."
