SOME of Australia's most rich and powerful are expected to head to Hamilton Island this week as guests to the top secret wedding of Ginia Rinehart.

The youngest child of mining tycoon Gina Rinehart, Ginia will wed her former body guard and former SAS soldier, known only as Simon, at the island's qualia resort according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

Described on its website as "one of the most idyllic locations in Australia for your wedding ceremony", qualia is no stranger to famous faces.

In 2015, singing sensation Taylor Swift brought her entire entourage to qualia during the Australian leg of her 1989 World Tour.

There's expected to be plenty of high stature guests in attendance at this week's Rinehart wedding, each with very heavy pockets.

Director of Fairfax Media Jack Cowin, Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce, ad-man John Singleton and property developer Imelda Roche are reportedly among some of names on the guest list.

Whether Ginia's three siblings will make an appearance is another matter.

The family is currently involved in a very public multi-billion dollar legal battle, which has now been ongoing for four years.

Ginia took her mother's side in the blowout against her siblings, Bianca, John and Hope.

In February Gina Rinehart was ordered by a court to hand over to her two eldest children privileged documents in relation to the $2.26 billion family trust.

In response the mining magnate publicly called Bianca and John "selfish".

The Sydney Morning Herald has reported Ginia's brother John "is yet to forgive Ginia" and therefore will miss his little sister's wedding.

It is unknown whether or not Ginia's sisters Bianca and Hope will be attending the wedding.
