Roadshow to break down council budget

WANT to know what your area is getting under the 2016/17 Budget but left bamboozled by all the technical lingo?

Well be left in the dark no longer with council's Budget Roadshow coming to the rescue.

Mayor Andrew Willcox will by joined by divisional councillors and members of the executive leadership team to tour the region, breaking down the budget.

The roadshow will visit Cannonvale, Proserpine, Bowen and Collinsville, with one hour sessions open to the public.

"Understanding the council budget can be perplexing and we acknowledge the fact that many residents have questions they want answered or they simply want to gain a full understanding of where the ratepayer funds are being spent," Cr Willcox said.

"My mandate since becoming mayor has been to operate as an open and trustworthy council and ensure that our community has an avenue for direct engagement with council."
