Rob’s eye for detail wins award
NAMING Rob Stanley as this month's Employee of the Month was a no-brainer for the Proserpine Chamber of Commerce.
Despite plenty of nominations, the judging panel decided Mr Stanley was a clear winner.
Mr Stanley has been head greenkeeper at the Proserpine Golf Club for 12 months now but has worked at the club on and off for almost four years.
"I enjoy giving a product that members and visitors like," he said.
"Every now and then we get good feedback and there have been comments from people saying (the course) is looking the best it has in quite a long time.
"It's the eye for detail."
Secretary of the Proserpine Chamber of Commerce, Karen Vloedmans, said Mr Stanley was a classic example of why the Proserpine Chamber of Commerce started the positive initiative.
"It's to recognise great customer service and it's to give others some inspiration," she said.
"It also recognises the businesses that are lucky enough to have these employees and see them as a true asset, not only to their business but to our town.
"The person that has nominated him for this award gave a very lengthy and positive recommendation- a glowing report, really."
With Mr Stanley a past golf pro, Ms Vloedmans said the club was extremely lucky to have his experience and eye for detail.
This month, the Proserpine Entertainment Centre (PEC) sponsored the award and owner, Chris Patrick said he offered his congratulations to the outstanding worker.
"I'm sure he's very appreciated by all the members of the club and I wish him all the best," he said.
Mr Stanley received two movie tickets for the PEC.
"I'm very excited, it's very humbling," he said. "I put the effort in but it's what you've got to do to provide the service and keep the course looking how it does."
