MOVIE buffs can spend a night with "stars" that have featured in some of the silver screen's most memorable moments.

Flight Centre has scanned the movie credits and guest records to compile a list of worldwide hotels that have established a reputation for being infamous over the years.

Collectively, the chosen hotels have shared screen time in films with the likes of Julia Roberts, Scarlett Johansson and Hugh Grant, as well as welcomed dozens of high rollers and musicians including John Lennon and Billie Holiday. .

Flight Centre's list of hotels includes:

Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel, Montreal: During the Vietnam War in 1969, musicians John Lennon and Yoko Ono spent a week at this hotel as part of their Bed-Ins for Peace protest to promote world peace. A raft of reporters held court outside while the two stayed in the room.

A three-night package including breakfast and accommodation in a standard room is from $274 per person twin-hare. The price is valid for stays from October 1 to 31, 2012

Degli Orafi, Florence: This has been etched into the archives of film greatness as the hotel from Merchant Ivory's A Room with a View. Apparently, you can actually stay in the room that has 'the view'.
