Early demand in rope-off day gridlock as Muster gates open

SHOULD early demand be any indication of success, this year's Gympie Music Muster in on track to hit a high note.

Organisers were on-site at Amamoor State Forest for rope-off day last Saturday, as 22 days remain before the three-day event's launch on Thursday, August 27.

Early-bird campers sent the dust flying as they rolled into the Muster site to mark off their camp sites.

Gates opened earlier than planned to meet the huge demand. The Muster's Twitter account kept fans updated on proceedings, saying the early opening was to "get vehicles off the road for their safety".

The Muster site is immaculate this year thanks to volunteers who repaired flood damage from earlier in the year.

Flooding engulfed the Muster site, damaging infrastructure, including the Main Stage itself, and sweeping away the windmill.

Repairs have since been carried out to the Main Stage, the windmill replaced and debris cleaned up.

Muster organisers have all but finalised the playing schedule, available online at muster.com.au.

Queensland super group Sheppard is a major drawcard to this year's event, while Muster regulars and fan favourites Adam Brand, Melinda Schneider, Ian Moss and Troy Cassar-Daley are among the stars also drawing the crowds.
