BREAKING (Yesterday): TWO people are in police custody after a routine car search turned dramatic today.

Initial reports suggest police were searching a vehicle and its passengers in Berserker this afternoon when they located drugs on a young passenger.

Further reports suggest a second passenger was then searched and when more drugs were found, the offender attempted to flee on foot.

Both passengers were arrested at the scene and are expected to be transported to the Rockhampton watch house for further questioning.
