RUGBY: Reigning premiers remain undefeated

RUGBY UNION: The Whitsunday/Proserpine Raiders coach Kon Flaherty knew it was always going to be a tough game against reigning premiers, Mackay Cities at the weekend.

And being short on players made it even tougher.

Flaherty said neither team managed to score a lot in the first half.

But after the Raiders copped an injury in the second half they went down to 14 on the park which allowed Cities to ran away with the win.

"They have probably looked the best of the teams we have played so far,” Flaherty said.

"Especially in the second half, they tore us up a bit in the back.”

Kuttabul Camelboks and Bowen Mudcrabs both posted wins over Brothers and Slade Point.
