Rundle remains silent after resigning over Islam posts
JUST days after being appointed to the board of Racing Queensland, Jim Rundle has resigned after a series of anti-Islamic posts were found on his Facebook account.
The Rockhampton trainer spoke briefly to The Morning Bulletin yesterday, but said he did not want to comment publicly on the issue at this stage.
Mr Rundle resigned from the position on Monday, after the posts were found on his Facebook page.
The posts do not appear to have been written by Mr Rundle, but were shared content to his personal page.
The posts reflect anti-Islamic and anti-halal sentiments.
On Tuesday, southern media reported Mr Rundle initially said he hardly used the social media site.
But some anti-halal posts have been published in recent weeks.

Queensland Racing Minister, Grace Grace said the government wouldn't accept religious intolerance, telling media Mr Rundle's actions were "unacceptable".
"The inflammatory language and disrespectful sentiments in posts shared by Mr Rundle do nothing to promote tolerance and cohesion," Ms Grace told media.
"The views he has associated himself with are unacceptable and divisive and we need to send out a very clear message that they have no place in modern Queensland."
More than 1000 people have voted in an APN poll on the issue.
Most believe that Mr Rundle's personal views had nothing to do with his position on Racing Queensland's board.
Many thought the issue was 'political correctness' gone mad.
