Rural crews expect fire to take several hours to control
UPDATE 4PM: Firefighters are expecting to work into the evening in an effort to bring a grass fire at Swanbank under control.
Ripley Valley Rural Fire Brigade incident controller Jim Runham says the fire started when some old mulch ignited on a property on Swanbank Rd about 12.30pm.
The fire is burning in about 10 hectares of difficult terrain and a grader has been used to create a fire break.
Three rural crews are also conducting back burning in the area.
Mr Runham says he is expecting the fire to take about three hours to bring under control.
EARLIER: Three rural fire crews are working to control a grass fire at Swanbank this afternoon.
The fire was first reported at Swanbank Rd about 12.30pm.
Crews are working to create containment lines and fire breaks.
There is no indication of property under threat.
