Our Salvos mark a milestone
CANNONVALE'S Salvation Army Family Store celebrated a major milestone yesterday, officially entering its second year.
Store manager Denise Norder said they had received "overwhelming support" in their first 12 months.
"During the past year the volunteers and I have met many new community members and created lots of friendships," she said.
"We take pride in the store and love to hear the positive feedback of how great it looks and ideas that they have to improve our store."
To celebrate their success, the store is offering their already reasonably priced items at reduced cost.
"During our birthday week we have a $6 bag sale which is very popular with our shoppers and will continue until Saturday, April 2," Ms Norder said.
"The family store sells items ranging from clothes for the whole family to furniture, electrical items, linen and 10kg bags of rags."
Aside from being the home of great bargains, the family store also gives back to the community by supporting the work of our local Salvos.
They can't do it alone however, putting out a call for volunteers to help out.
"Jobs range from sorting items donated, customer service within the store and the pick up and drop off of donated and purchased items," Ms Norder said.
