Sam McClymont ready to play cupid on The Farmer Wants A Wife
COUNTRY music singer Sam McClymont is relieved she's no longer single.
The award-winning musician hosts the new series of The Farmer Wants A Wife and it has reminded her of her own single days before meeting her pilot husband Ben Poxon.
"Watching the farmers go through it, I thought oh my gosh thank God I don't have to go through dating again," she told APN.
"The nerves, the sweaty palms, thinking what am I going to wear? Viewers will get to watch all the awkward dates and all the awkward moments."
The series, which follows six farmers as they search for Mrs Right, returns to Channel 9 tonight after a three-year hiatus.
Tonight's debut sees McClymont meet the six farmers in the Hunter Valley. Each man will meet the eight women he shortlisted from hundreds of applications.
After five-minute speed dates, some of which are quite awkward, the farmers must then choose four women to go back to their farms.
Sam believes Rockhampton cowboy Lance will be an instant hit with viewers.
"He's honestly like a character out of a movie; he could talk for hours underwater I reckon," she said.
"He's such a genuine man. Whenever he walked into the room you'd smile and laugh. He just really lit up a room.
"I think Australia will fall in love with him."
The Farmer Wants A Wife airs tonight at 8.45pm on Channel 9/WIN.
