Sea Eagles crash Dragons
A HAT-TRICK of tries from young winger Michael Oldfield sealed a 20-8 win for Manly over St George Illawarra in an entertaining clash at Brookvale Oval on Friday night.
The win ended a run of four successive defeats at the hands of the Dragons for the premiers, who were in full control for most of the match but allowed the joint venture to close the gap to two points in the second half before icing the result in the last five minutes.
Sea Eagles five-eighth Kieran Foran felt the final scoreline flattered the Sea Eagles, who had led 10-8 late in the match.
"We knew coming into tonight that we were going to be in for a tough game," Foran told Grandstand.
"The Dragons like to grind it out to the very last minute and we knew it was going to be like that we just wanted to play mistake-free footy, try and complete our sets and build pressure as much as we could."
