Sea Eagles must focus on Rabbitohs

MANLY's mental toughness to cope with more off-field player drama will be thoroughly tested by defending premier South Sydney tonight.

The tug-of-war for Sea Eagles five-eighth Kieran Foran has been a major distraction for the club and coach Geoff Toovey, coming on top of the Daly Cherry-Evans (pictured) signing fiasco.

Foran heads into the clash with Souths with his future up in the air as Parramatta desperately tries to re-jig a suitable contract after his original multi-million dollar four-year deal with the Eels was watered down.

Manly has weighed in with a counter offer hoping Foran will follow Cherry-Evans's lead and stay at the club.

It's all an unwanted circus for Toovey who needs to get his team winning games after a horror start to 2015 that has seen his own future come into question.

It's a long way back from 16th place, but last week's 30-20 win over the Wests Tigers was a change in fortune for the Sea Eagles who are a much better side than their position on the ladder suggests.

Manly needs Foran and his partner-in-crime Cherry-Evans to fire up against the Rabbitohs, who have rested young gun Luke Keary to get a foot injury under control.

Keary has carried much of the load in the halves in recent weeks while halfback Adam

Reynolds was sidelined with knee and thumb issues.

Souths were embarrassed 34-6 by the Wests Tigers before last week's bye, but get superstar Greg Inglis back for tonight's clash.
