Sealbys make it to 100 days on the road
THIS week the Sealby family notched up 100 days on the road.
In July they packed up their lives to hit the road for a year to travel around Australia.
"Today marks 100 days on the road travelling Australia," they posted to Facebook.
The family of six with two teenagers have travelled 14577 kilometres in those 100 days.
"We left Brisbane at the beginning of July and we are currently camped on a beach on the Dampier Peninsula."
That's about 175 kilometres north of Broome in Western Australia.
So far the family has spent $6055 on fuel, about $60.55 a day.
They've paid $3237 for food, an average of $32.37 a day.
Accommodation has cost $2615, about $26.15 a day and they've splurged $850 on alcohol about $8.50 a day.
They've stopped at 16 caravan parks, 11 free camps, four you camps and six low cost camps.
So far they've travelled through three states, from Queensland, into the Northern Territory and to Western Australia.
They all have their favourite spots, for dad Corey its El Questro, Uluru and Lawn Hill.
Mum Ally's top pics were Kings Canyon and El Questro.
Mackayla, 15, liked Darwin and Townsville, Chloe, 13, also enjoyed Darwin and the Burdekin Cane Farm.
Cody, 10, said the Burdekin Cane Farm and El Questro was his favourite spots and Ava, 8, loved Broome and Darwin.
"Useless info - we've spotted only 17 Kombi's on the road," the family posted.
While Queensland has been pelted with rain, while they've been on the road the Sealby's have had zero rain days.
"With the six of us and limited space in our home on wheels not every day is harmonious," they posted.
"We are still learning about each other every day and adapting to our current travelling situation. It's just like normal home life but in some wonderful locations.
"We have met some amazing characters, families and fellow travellers on the road.
"We travelled the entire Northern Territory with a legendary family we met at the Burdekin Cane Farm.
"It's these friendships created on the road and the memories being made that make all the sacrifices well worth it."
