High speed crash closes highway, man in critical condition
UPDATE, 5.25pm: A 28-year-old male has sustained serious injuries after a high speed single-car collision into a guard rail on the Pacific Highway at Newrybar.
The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter has been tasked to transport the patient to a Gold Coast hospital.
It is understood he is in a critical condition.
A second patient , a female, has been transported by road to Lismore Base Hospital and is stable.
Airbags were deployed.
ORIGINAL STORY: THE Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter is responding to a single vehicle crash on the Pacific Highway at Bangalow where it is believed one person is critically injured.
An Ambulance NSW spokesman said paramedics were also called to the scene at about 4pm this afternoon.
Paramedics were attending to two patients
A female patient, believed to aged in her 30s, was able to extricate herself from the vehicle.
An additional patient had injuries that were "unlisted" at this time.
The Hinterland Way (Old Pacific Highway) from Ewingsdale Interchange to rejoin the Pacific Highway at Ross Lane.
The diversion is suitable for all vehicles.
Use alternative routes and allow for extra travel time.
