Service honour for local priest

IN HONOUR of Catholic Education Week, St Catherine's Parish Priest Fr Bill Busuttin has been recognised for his service to the school with a Spirit of Catholic Education Award 2015 nomination.

Father Bill, who recently celebrated his 80th birthday with the college community, was nominated for the award by school principal Sharyn Bell for his valuable contribution to the St Catherine's Catholic College community over time.

"Fr Bill is very proud of everything that our growing college has achieved, and readily shares his deep knowledge and understanding of Catholic tradition, faith and scripture," she said. Parish secretary Mary Friederichs was also nominated for her work ensuring the parish and school partnership runs smoothly. Her association with St Catherine's goes back many years, having attended the college for her primary schooling, and then having her five children educated there.

She now proudly has two grandchildren schooling at the college.
