Charles Barkley unimpressed with Matthew Dellavedova effort

MOST in the basketball world have been raving about the defensive work of Matthew Dellavedova on Steph Curry in Cleveland's 95-93 overtime win over Golden State in game two of their NBA final series.

But not NBA great Charles Barkley, despite the Aussie's pressure ensuring the league MVP missed 18 of 23 shots and finishing with 19 points.

"People need to slow down giving him so much credit ... Steph Curry (pictured) will kill that kid in the overall scheme of things," Barkley told the Bleacher Report.

"It had nothing to do with Dellavedova (being) all over him or anything like that, he just missed some shots."

Australian basketball legend Andrew Gaze yesterday backed his fellow Melburnian. "He had Curry mumbling to himself," he said on radio. "He was defensively an absolute guru."

Curry, who shot 26 points in the Warriors' 108-100 win in game one, has a chance to redeem himself today when the seven-match series heads to Cleveland for game three.

"We still believe we're going to win the series," Curry said.
