State school has some big talents
ON Wednesday, Cannonvale State School hosted the assembly of all assemblies where they proved just how talented and endearing their school is, including awards from Cannonvale's Got Talent.
Claudia Ansell took out the Prep section with a dance, Bray Phillips and Lucas Allen-Fancke scored a solid second for Year 2 with a mime, Larissa Foster from Year 3 did a top-notch job with her song and placed highly commended, and Katie Ivers and Annabelle Head from Year 4 taught everyone "how to make a healthy lunch".
Also showing great talent, Conner Turner, Mia Trimmer and Ella Rogers from Year 5 turned heads with their beat box, rap and song, while Year 6 multi-talented Alexis Graham blew away the audience by playing piano and singing.
Years 1CM and 1KB were awarded highly commended on their class dances and Year 2's Ivy and May Thompson impressed many with their swinging hips in a hoola hoop act.
Sporting house Macona was congratulated as the overall winners of the state school's athletics carnival. Age champions were also announced and sports captains praised.
Principal Angie Kelly stood proud over her students at Wednesday's assembly, praising every child on their efforts. And in typical fashion the assembly closed with the students shouting "Cannonvale State School is a great school". Tomorrow the school will be participating in Schools National Tree Day.
