Sugar content down but throughput on track

WILMAR'S Proserpine mill pushed another 88,760 tons of sugar cane through this week.

This brings the season total to 470,302 tons.

Cane supply manager Tony Marino said in his report, this week's production maintains the season's average weekly throughput at just over 88,000 tons.

"A scheduled maintenance stop was held on Thursday to make adjustments to the milling train and clean the induced draft fans on No. 3 boiler,” he said.

"Average weekly CCS dropped marginally by 0.05 of a unit from last week to 13.13 however this remains above the forecast expected for this time of the season.”

The highest CCS sample was 16.24 from a rake of plant Q240 in the Gregory Productivity District and variety KQ228 yielded CCS of 13.59.
