Summer snags show competition

LOCAL photographer Summer Rain Mulvey has taken out the It's Show Time photographic award - pocketing $200.

The winning photo was snapped on the way out of Show Whitsunday after a day spent enjoying the event with her family.

The competition was run via the social media platform Instagram and asked entrants to hash tag their pics with the #itsshowtime tag.

Ms Mulvey said she did tag her photo on her Instagram account but didn't realise it was a competition until It's Show Time contacted her to say she had won.

"I was surprised actually... they messaged me and told me I had won," she said.

The winning shot was captured by a Canon 5D Mark 3 fitted with an L Series 17-40mm lens at an F-Stop of F4 for 1/320 of a second with an ISO setting of 400.

Ms Mulvey said she was happy with the way the photo turned out and said it "looks really good on the big screen".
