Sunshine Coast man pleads guilty to raping another man

A SUNSHINE Coast man has pleaded guilty to raping another man ahead of what was meant to be the start of his four-day trial.

Phillip Donald Jason, 48, fronted Brisbane District Court on Monday charged with rape, assault and stealing stemming from an incident on June 12, 2014 in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.

The court heard Jason raped the man before stealing his bag, mobile phone and sunglasses.

A defence barrister requested the matter be adjourned so a psychologist's report can be obtained ahead of sentencing.

Judge David Reid remanded Jason into custody and listed the matter for mention this Friday.
