Superstar shines at bank award evening

PROSERPINE branch manager, Jane Tissington is a superstar.

A superstar employee, that is, judging by the outcome of the annual in-house company award ceremony.

Part of the criteria Jane has excelled at is growing the business and attracting new customers to the Proserpine branch.

"I was the top bank manager across a measure of things, which is pretty cool,” she said.

Jane attended a black tie event hosted at the Gabba cricket ground in Brisbane.

"We all got our hair done and dolled up and got a few nice pictures,” she said.

Jane said it was a nice feeling to be recognised by the Westpcac hierarchy but added, "we get paid to do our job properly. You are not going to go to superstars (just) because you do your job properly”.

"You have to go above and beyond,” she said.

"I think that everything that happened with the cyclone and the way that we were in the community (demonstrated that). Every morning I was there at 7am starting the generator so we could get the ATM going for everyone.

"We had to come in, in the dark to get money out of the safe to put in the ATM with torches and combinations because people needed money. That was our main concern.”

Following Cyclone Debbie, he Proserpine branch removed 500 litres of water from its carpets and has just had its roof tiles replaced.
