FROM the red dirt of the Pilbara to the red carpet of Hollywood, these boots were made for walking.

Kara Lauder, the founder of Kader Boot Co, will be heading to Los Angeles to attend a star-studded gifting suite event the day before the Oscars.

The talented mum will take the children's version of her signature black and white western boot for stars to peruse, pose with, and maybe even promote.

In June last year the Rural Weekly spoke with the artistic mum, who launched her own western wear business from the remote corner of the Pilbara in Paraburdoo.

She has faced many hurdles in building a business from the bush so she is thrilled to have her boots on display among Hollywood bigwigs.

"The company organising this particular gifting suite (Celebrity Connected) started following my Instagram. We got talking and they booked us a spot at their celebrity gifting suite honouring the Academy Awards,” she said.

"It's an invite-only event for celebrities and they are led around to each booth to meet with the owners of each company and hear about all the products in the suite as well as having photos taken with them and the products.”

Determined to put her best foot forward, Kara has invited outspoken social media starlet Jillaroo Jess to go along with her.

With a vivacious country charm and great sense of humour, Jess will certainly leave the A-listers with a lasting impression.

"I'm very excited, and a little nervous navigating the big city,” she said.

Jess is eager to see the celebrities reaction to the unique boot designs. She first came into contact with Kara when she was inquiring about buying a pair for herself.

"I absolutely adore them. The designs are something most Australians - especially 'Pilbarians' - can relate to.”

Word was getting around in the Pilbara that the pair was heading to Hollywood and the main reaction so far was "disbelief”.

"I'm sure there'll be plenty of photographic evidence for the disbelievers though,” Jess joked. Kara said she would be honoured for any celebrity to endorse her products, but said she had her fingers crossed for the support of a country singer.

While the honouree Academy Award show will be a main event for Kara, she is also using the opportunity to meet with other American western wear stores while in the States.

"Our boots are so different to everything that is out there at the moment so I'm fairly confident they will catch the eye of some western stores in the US,” she said.

"A store in New York City has expressed their interest already so we just need to get some samples out to them.”
