Temple Of Boom chasing feature

TOOWOOMBA will chase a belated winter feature race win when Temple Of Boom lines up in today's Listed Ramornie Handicap (1200m) at Grafton.

Darling Downs horses experienced a lean Brisbane winter carnival this year.

But trainer Tony Gollan is hoping to turn that around with a consolation win by Temple Of Boom in today's $130,000 event.

Gollan was represented in a number of Brisbane features with Temple Of Boom, Listen Son and Spirit Of Boom.

“I was happy enough with the way our horses raced during the carnival,” Gollan said yesterday.

“It was a bit frustrating they didn't have some better luck, but hopefully we can turn that around tomorrow.”

Temple Of Boom is a $5 early third favourite behind Black Piranha ($3.60).

“I think this is his right grade and he looks weighted okay with a good alley for a change so I'm pretty confident he'll acquit himself well,” Gollan said.

“He had a big weight first up in the Lightning and was probably a bit soft.

“He then raced wide from an outside draw in the Healy and I thought if he had the run of the winner Pinwheel, he would have finished a lot closer.”

Gollan is planning a Melbourne spring tilt with his three winter carnival reps.

“If Temple Of Boom comes through tomorrow okay, he will probably kick off in Melbourne next month,” Gollan said.
