Terrorist joke bombs on Ipswich student

AN Ipswich State High School student has landed himself in trouble after turning up to school dressed as a suicide bomber.

The 15-year-old boy arrived at school Thursday morning wearing a tea-towel over his head, as well as a black cape, and carried an empty soft drink bottle with wires taped to it.

The outfit was intended as a practical joke and it is understood that it did not cause any alarm with fellow students or staff.

The incident has been reported to police, however, and the boy will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
