TV show pulled after guest dies
UK talk show The Jeremy Kyle Show has been pulled off air today and suspended indefinitely after a guest died shortly after filming.
In a statement ITV - the British TV network that airs The Jeremy Kyle Show - on Tuesday revealed the episode would not be screened.
ITV added a review would be launched and the talk show, which is modelled after US series Jerry Springer, would cease being shown and filmed immediately.
A spokeswoman said: "Everyone at ITV and The Jeremy Kyle Show is shocked and saddened at the news of the death of a participant in the show a week after the recording of the episode they featured in and our thoughts are with their family and friends.
"ITV will not screen the episode in which they featured.
"Given the seriousness of this event, ITV has also decided to suspend both filming and broadcasting of The Jeremy Kyle Show with immediate effect in order to give it time to conduct a review of this episode of the show."
Fans noticed the show was not airing as normal and were left confused by the sudden change.
One said: "I was wondering why The Jeremy Kyle Show wasn't on this morning (not that I'd watch it if it was) and just found out a guest died shortly after today's episode was produced. My deepest sympathy to family and friends."
Another asked: "Any idea where Jeremy Kyle is today?"
And one pondered: "Where is Jeremy Kyle this morning? He is not on TV."
