Third home hit by bullet in Toowoomba

A SINGLE gunshot was fired into a Toowoomba home last night as investigations into another shooting incident on Monday continue.

A neighbour to the residence fired upon last night reported the incident to police but no formal complaint was made with investigating officers.

It comes as investigations into a Brim St burglary with violence continue.

It is unclear if the two shootings are related as no formal complaint has been made with police who therefore cannot investigate the incident.

Detectives are appealing for any information regarding the Brim St shooting on Monday which sent the area into lockdown and left a man in hospital with head and wrist injuries.

Police are yet to determine the motive behind the attack but it is understood there could be a drug connection.

Darling Downs Detective Inspector Dave Isherwood said inquiries were continuing.

"A number of police have attended a number of addresses looking for suspects to try and establish who the persons responsible are," he said.

Inquiries to date have included tracing a white vehicle seen fleeing the Brim St area shortly after the attack which occurred about 9.20am.

Three men - two armed with guns - forced their way into the home despite the efforts of a resident who had attempted to block the door.

One shot was fired inside hitting a wall before the offenders searched the property.

They left empty-handed and were seen driving from the area in a white vehicle, the make and model of which is still unknown.

The first man, who had been armed with a sawn-off shotgun in good condition, is described as being a thin Caucasian male in his 30s and about 185cm tall.

The second man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, in his 30s, about 180cm tall, of a thin build and blue eyes.

The third man is between 18-25 years, about 180cm tall, Caucasian in appearance and of a thin build.

Police are appealing for witnesses and are asking anyone with information that could assist them to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
