Three dead after plane crash in Victoria

AT LEAST three people were killed in a plane crash near Geelong yesterday.

Victoria Police reported the plane crashed into the water at Barwon Heads about 12.30pm.

Police confirmed on Twitter they had located three bodies from the crash and were searching for a fourth.

The Herald Sun said two men and a woman had died in the six-seater plane.

Police vessels and two coast guard boats from nearby Queenscliff were fishing debris from the water.

In a statement, police said the cause of the crash remained unknown.
