Three in hospital after party-goers attack local residents

POLICE are investigating after a large street disturbance in Varsity Lakes last night.

At around 9.30pm police were called to Georgetown Street after several calls about a large party at the address.

When police arrived, the party had dispersed.

Shortly afterwards a group of juveniles damaged a Honda CRV parked nearby on Baruch Street.

Three occupants of the house, a 53-year-old woman, a 57-year-old man and a 49-year-old man confronted the group, before they were assaulted.

All three were taken to Robina Hospital for treatment to minor injuries including facial injuries and bruising.

The residence was damaged when a motorcycle helmet was thrown through a window.

Investigations are continuing.
