Three kids removed from house after suspected drug lab found

THREE children have been removed from a Norville home after police uncovered what they suspect is an amphetamine lab.

A crime scene was established at the Wynter St house on Wednesday after Bundaberg police executed a search warrant.

Bundaberg Criminal Investigation Branch detectives and uniformed officers attended the house and the Brisbane-based Illicit Laboratory Drug Investigation team was expected to arrive on Wednesday night.

CIB Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Bishop said a man and woman were helping police.

"They've (police) executed a warrant at approximately 1.15pm at an address in Wynter St in Norville," he said.

"What we have there we believe to be a box lab and a small amount of amphetamine.

"Upon entering the premises and discovering that we removed the two people inside who are now suspects and declared a crime scene.

"There were three children there who were removed.

"We're awaiting the Illicit Laboratory Drug Investigation team to come up and process the scene."

A 21-year man and a 22-year-old woman were helping police but charges have not been laid.

Det Snr Sgt Bishop said the search warrant was carried out as part of the police's continued effort to address the scourge of drugs in Bundaberg and other areas.
