Tipping coming to a close
IN THE second last round of the AFL season, Airlie Fitness owner Corey Whibley picked a perfect nine from nine in the Whitsunday Times tipping competition.
Whibley's perfect round was his second in this year's competition and gave his yearly total a welcome boost ahead of the final round this weekend.
Steve McDonald from the Airlie Beach Music Centre is in a commanding position heading into the final round and looks certain to finish as the overall winner.
McDonald leads the way on 143 points, well clear of Team Kerr from Ray White Whitsunday on 136 and last year's champ, Master Butchers Whitsunday's Don Cameron on 134.
In the NRL tipping competition Reef Cool Air-Conditioning's Justin Andrews is leading the way on 121 with two rounds left.
Andrews will be hoping to hold off late charges from Kevin Cooper from Coop's Excavation (115) and Airlie Beach Tyres' Jeremy Power on 108.
The winner of the NRL competition will receive a grand final package for two including flights, tickets and accommodation and the winner of the AFL comp will take home a package from Betta Home Living in Cannonvale.
