A THREE-YEAR-OLD boy has died in a tragic four-wheel-drive accident during a family camping holiday at Inskip Point.
The toddler is believed to have been run over by a family member at a camp site just off the beach yesterday afternoon.
Ambulance officers from nearby Rainbow Beach performed CPR on the boy before an intensive care paramedic arrived aboard Bundaberg's AGL Action Rescue Helicopter.
The chopper landed on the beach at 3.55pm and the paramedic spent 25 minutes trying to revive the boy.
A second helicopter with a specialist doctor from Brisbane had been sent to the scene but the toddler was declared dead before it arrived.
Police are continuing their investigations into the circumstances of the accident.
No details on the toddler's family were available last night.
The Bundaberg chopper was first on the scene because it had been returning to base after transporting a man to the Royal Brisbane Hospital earlier in the day.
The man had been involved in a car accident.
