Tonker Park lights up

KHANACROSS

SATURDAY night saw the first twilight khanacross at Tonker Park Raceway hosted by the Whitsunday Sporting Car Club. All competitors and spectators enjoyed themselves, with 17 drivers turning up to test their skills at night.

The competition required drivers to complete the course as quick as possible while only using the lights from their vehicles, but this did not deter the competitors.

Times being posted were only two seconds behind those posted during the daylight events.

Bragging rights were up for grabs with Tas Taylor proving victorious in his TX5 division taking out not only first place in his class but first overall for the weekend.

Only one second behind him was Tim Hall in his V8 Commodore and another one second behind that was Dean Insch in his Daihatsu Charade.

For details on how to get involved contact Drew Denman at wscc@ymail.com.
