Top players honoured at Sea Eagles awards night
AFTER a stellar 2013 season Matthew Laskey picked up his second consecutive best and fairest award for the Whitsunday Sea Eagles.
The club hopped on the team bus and headed to the Metropole in Proserpine on Saturday for the end of season award night. Laskey made it two best and fairest awards from two years while Josh Griffiths picked up the top award for the reserve grade.
Laskey lead the A grade count with 46 votes ahead of Cody Wright on 25, Clint Voigt on 22 and Robert Whitton on 20.
Departing Sea Eagles player Robert Whitton capped off a great 2013 season, picking up the most consistent and most courageous awards.
Coaches, trainers and volunteers were honoured on the night and club stalwart Darren Crossley became the 10th ever Sea Eagles life member.
Young talent Ashley Liebeck picked up the club's inaugural rising star award after a great 2013 season where he made his senior debut.
