Top prize won at Quest
WITH their hands resting on their buzzers, St Catherine's Catholic College students were ready for any question thrown their way at the Quest for Knowledge competition in Townsville this week.
Four students, Summah Quinlan, Kara Donkers, Noah Connell and Luke McNally competed at the event held at Holy Spirit School on Tuesday.
And their hard work paid off when they took out the top prize in the Consolation final.
Deputy Principal of Primary, Peter Bates, said he was "very proud" of the effort the students put in.
He said the grins on their faces were enough to show just how much they enjoyed themselves.
The St Cath's team competed against Year 6 students from 12 other schools from as far afield as Mt Isa and Ingham.
The process involved the students having to answer 40 questions based on a range of topics including religion, maths, literacy and general knowledge.
Students were required to press the buzzer when they knew the answer but a point would be deducted if they answered a question wrong.
This year was the second the school took part in the event and Mr Bates said the students improved with every game they played.
Live streamed on Youtube, fellow students followed the action and a number of Year 5 students showed a high level of interest for next year's event.
